UPCOMING SPECIAL PROGRAMS

Our Fall Festival is just around the corner...

Support the Library and have fun with the whole family! Join us Saturday, October 1 from 10 to 4. Enjoy live music with the Hip Replacements between 11 and 3.

We've had a great year. The improvements that we've made with the help of grants and our patrons are outstanding. We want to share them with you, and the Fall Festival is the perfect time to come take a look. Join us for the Library Open House and check out the new Church room floor, new bathrooms and fountain, the new computer stations, teen room and more! It's your Library and we want you come spend time in the new, improved surroundings.

Bring the family and enjoy the activities; pumpkin decorating, face painting and more. You'll enjoy the Flea Market, which promises to be even better than last year. And remember to visit the Friend's Book Sale. Both are wonderful opportunities to do some early seasonal shopping. So mark your calendar and make sure to save the date!

Operation Raise the Flag

Sloatsburg Library Trustee Darrell Frasier and Library Manager Annmarie McAnany visited Senator Calucci in Albany in March of 2015 to advocate for local library issues and funding opportunities. The visit came after Sloatsburg qualified as an emergency shelter — if it only had a generator. The senator’s office directed the Library toward helpful grant opportunities and facilitated a scheduled delivery of a new emergency shelter generator.

We thank Senator Calucci for his support and commitment to our vision!

Surrounded by Library Trustees, staff and Sloatsburg Mayor Carl Wright, Senator Carlucci hands Library Manager Annmarie McAnany a new flag

2016 is the Chinese Year of the Monkey...

...and we've got more exciting and interesting programs for you this year, so keep in touch and let's spend it together! We'll explore all sorts of interesting things to read, experience and enjoy!

We provide a real value and we can prove it!

One of our priorities is to provide services and materials to school kids that have been lost due to recent school budget cuts. From homework help to story time and educational activities, we provide a real service to our younger patrons! We're excited about the many changes that have taken place over the past year and we want to share them with you. Come take a look, and see what your Library is doing for you!

Use the calculator at right to determine your library usage and what that use would cost if you had to pay for these items. We think you'll agree that your community library is a great value!

Entertainment, knowledge and sheer fun are an integral part of what we offer, but we also want you to think of the Library as one of the most important places to get the facts that you need to make life better. Last year's programs and resources were crafted to offer just that type of material to our patrons. We welcome your input and your ideas. Help us be the best we can be!

If you are a parent or student interested in sitting down with Sloatsburg Library staff to learn about new online resources, just call the front desk at 845-753-2001.
