Coronavirus (COVID-19) update and information
The Sloatsburg Public Library will be closed to the public through at least June 6, due to the Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic. The Library follows the schedule of the Suffern Central School District. Please check our Facebook page for more regular programming and other updates.
Our bookdrop and media drop are closed until further notice. All Library fines are waived. We will be fielding calls for any help that is needed. You can also reach out via email at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Remembering Phil Tisi
It is with great sadness that we honor the memory of our own Phil Tisi, who passed away due to Covid 19 complications. A lifelong educator who lived in Sloatsburg, Phil will be remembered for the many people he mentored and inspired. He taught here for some 38 years, teaching social studies at Suffern High School and serving as the department chair and summer school principal.
He served as a Sloatsburg Library Trustee for two separate tenures, one as President of the Library Board. During his time with the Library, Tisi and the Board helped improve and expand our services in our new home, the former St. Francis Episcopal Church.
Our staff and board celebrate the memory of Phil Tisi and the good works he accomplished throughout the community. We are less without him, and will grieve with the community for our collective loss.
