Library Advocacy Day
Director Annmarie McAnany joins her RCLS colleagues and Assemblyman Karl Brabenec
Library Advocacy Day is an important annual rite of passage for members of the Ramapo Catskill Library System. Sloatsburg Library Director Annmarie McAnany has made the trip a number of times, all in the name of promoting the local library as an essential community resource.
In past Library Advocacy Days, McAnany has met with NYS Senator David Carlucci as well as other Rockland County representatives, including Assemblywoman Ellen Jaffee and Assemblyman Kenneth Zebrowski. Most recently, McAnany joined her RCSL colleagues on the Assembly Chamber floor as guest of Sloatsburg’s representative Assemblyman Karl Brabenec.
Sloatsburg resident and former Library Trustee Stephen Hoefer also stood with McAnany (Hoefer is on representative Brabenec’s right). Hoefer is currently the RCLS Fiscal Officer.
McAnany was joined on Library Advocacy Day by her daughter Erin, who was learning the young executive ropes while meeting and greeting with her mom in Albany.
Assemblyman Brabenec represents both The Village of Sloatsburg and Tuxedo.
We provide a real value and we can prove it!
One of our priorities is to provide services and materials to school kids that have been lost due to recent school budget cuts. From homework help to story time and educational activities, we provide a real service to our younger patrons! We're excited about the many changes that have taken place over the past year and we want to share them with you. Come take a look, and see what your Library is doing for you!
Use the calculator at right to determine your library usage and what that use would cost if you had to pay for these items. We think you'll agree that your community library is a great value!
Entertainment, knowledge and sheer fun are an integral part of what we offer, but we also want you to think of the Library as one of the most important places to get the facts that you need to make life better. Last year's programs and resources were crafted to offer just that type of material to our patrons. We welcome your input and your ideas. Help us be the best we can be!
